Present - work on it, to build the future / Présent - travailler sur lui pour construire l’avenir

• Non accontentatevi di sognare il vostro avvenire, ma sforzatevi di costruirlo sin da adesso su basi solide. È "adesso" che conta. L'avvenire è un prolungamento del presente, e il presente altro non è che una conseguenza, un risultato del passato. Tutto è collegato: passato, presente e avvenire non sono separati. L'avvenire sarà edificato sulle fondamenta che state posando adesso. Se quelle fondamenta sono difettose, è ovviamente inutile attendersi un avvenire eccezionale; ma se sono buone, è altrettanto inutile preoccuparsi. Con tali radici, avrete il tale tronco, i tali rami e i tali frutti. Il passato è passato, ma ha messo al mondo il presente, e il presente equivale alle radici dell'avvenire. Quindi, costruite sin da ora il vostro avvenire cercando di migliorare il presente.
• Don't be content merely to dream about the future; do your best to build it here and now on solid foundations. It is 'now' that counts. The future is an extension of the present, and the present is nothing other than a consequence, a result of the past. Everything is connected: past, present and future are not separate. The future will be built on the foundations you lay today. If these foundations are faulty, there is clearly no point in expecting an exceptional future, but if they are good there is no need to be anxious. The roots determine how the trunk, branches and fruit will be.
  The past is gone, but it gave birth to the present, and the present provides the roots for the future. So, you are building your future here and now by seeking to improve the present.
• Gebt euch nicht damit zufrieden, eure Zukunft zu erträumen, sondern bemüht euch, sie ab heute auf soliden Grundlagen aufzubauen. Es ist das »Jetzt«, das zählt. Die Zukunft ist eine Verlängerung der Gegenwart, und die Gegenwart ist nichts anderes als eine Konsequenz, ein Ergebnis der Vergangenheit. Alles hängt zusammen, die Vergangenheit, die Gegenwart, die Zukunft sind nicht getrennt. Die Zukunft wird auf den Fundamenten aufgebaut, die ihr jetzt legt. Wenn diese Fundamente fehlerhaft sind, so ist klar, dass man keine außergewöhnliche Zukunft erwarten kann. Wenn sie aber gut sind, so ist es unnötig, sich Sorgen zu machen. Wie die Wurzeln sind, so werden der Stamm, die Äste und die Früchte sein, die ihr erhaltet. Die Vergangenheit ist vergangen, aber sie hat die Gegenwart geboren, und die Gegenwart ist die Wurzel der Zukunft. Also gestaltet von jetzt an eure Zukunft, indem ihr euch bemüht, die Gegenwart zu verbessern. 
• Ne vous contentez pas de rêver votre avenir, mais efforcez-vous de le construire dès maintenant sur des bases solides. C’est « maintenant » qui compte. L’avenir est un prolongement du présent, et le présent n’est rien d’autre qu’une conséquence, un résultat du passé. Tout se tient : le passé, le présent, l’avenir ne sont pas séparés. L’avenir sera édifié sur les fondations que vous posez maintenant. Si ces fondations sont défectueuses, évidemment, inutile d’attendre un avenir exceptionnel ; mais si elles sont bonnes, inutile aussi de s’inquiéter. Avec telles racines, vous aurez tel tronc, telles branches et tels fruits.
  Le passé est passé, mais il a mis au monde le présent, et le présent, c’est les racines de l’avenir. Donc, dès maintenant vous construisez votre avenir en cherchant à améliorer le présent.
