• Semplicità… Pochissime persone conoscono il senso e l’importanza di questa parola! Si fermano alle sue manifestazioni esteriori: semplicità nel vestire, nei modi, semplicità nella maniera di vivere. In realtà, la semplicità è un atteggiamento filosofico che consiste nell’allontanarsi dal mondo fisico – il mondo dei fenomeni – per elevarsi sino al mondo spirituale, quello dei principi. Ecco la semplicità: andare verso il centro, verso il vertice. Con la complicazione, invece, si fa il cammino inverso: dal centro verso la periferia, dal vertice verso la base. Quando si esce dalla semplicità, dall’unità, si deve far fronte a così tanti dettagli che non si vede più come le cose si organizzano fra loro secondo le leggi di affinità; si è combattuti, si brancola nel buio e ci si indebolisce. Il simbolo più eloquente della semplicità è il diamante, perché è senza miscugli: è puro carbonio. Anche noi, quando troveremo la vera semplicità, possederemo la purezza del diamante, ma anche la sua resistenza.
• Simplicity… So few people know the meaning and importance of this word! They stop at its outer expressions: simple clothing, simple manners, a simple way of life. Simplicity is really a philosophical attitude consisting in distancing oneself from the physical world, the world of phenomena, and rising to the spiritual world, the world of principles. That is what simplicity is: a movement towards the centre or the summit, whereas complication takes you back the other way, from the centre to the periphery, from the summit to the base. When you move away from simplicity, unity, you are faced with so many details, you no longer see how things organize themselves according to the laws of affinity; you are pulled about, you grope around and grow weak.
  The symbol that best expresses simplicity is the diamond, since it is unadulterated, being pure carbon. And we too will possess the purity of the diamond, as well as its strength, when we find true simplicity.
• Die Einfachheit… wie wenige Personen kennen den Sinn und die Wichtigkeit dieses Wortes! Sie begnügen sich mit deren äußeren Offenbarungen, mit einfacher Kleidung, einfacher Lebensweise oder einer Einfachheit im Benehmen. In Wirklichkeit ist die Einfachheit eine philosophische Haltung, die darin besteht, sich von der physischen Welt, der Welt der Phänomene zu entfernen, um sich bis zur spirituellen Welt, der Welt der Prinzipien zu erheben. Das bedeutet Einfachheit: zum Zentrum, zum Gipfel zu gehen. Mit der Kompliziertheit hingegen geht man den umgekehrten Weg, nämlich vom Zentrum zur Peripherie, vom Gipfel zur Basis. Wenn man aus der Einfachheit, aus der Einheit heraustritt, wird man mit so vielen Details konfrontiert, dass man nicht mehr sieht, wie die Dinge sich nach den Gesetzen der Affinität untereinander organisieren; man wird hin und her gerissen, tappt im Dunkeln und schwächt sich.
  Das vielsagendste Symbol für die Einfachheit ist der Diamant, denn er ist unvermischter, reiner Kohlenstoff. Und auch wir werden, wenn wir die wahre Einfachheit finden, die Reinheit ebenso wie die Widerstandsfähigkeit des Diamanten besitzen.
• La simplicité… si peu de personnes connaissent le sens et l’importance de ce mot ! Elles s’arrêtent à ses manifestations extérieures : la simplicité dans les vêtements, dans les manières, la simplicité dans la façon de vivre. En réalité, la simplicité est une attitude philosophique qui consiste à s’éloigner du monde physique, le monde des phénomènes, pour s’élever jusqu’au monde spirituel, celui des principes. Voilà la simplicité : aller vers le centre, vers le sommet. Tandis qu’avec la complication on fait le chemin inverse : du centre vers la périphérie, du sommet vers la base. Quand on sort de la simplicité, de l’unité, on doit faire face à tellement de détails qu’on ne voit plus comment les choses s’organisent entre elles d’après les lois de l’affinité ; on est tiraillé, on tâtonne et on s’affaiblit.
  Le symbole le plus éloquent de la simplicité est le diamant, car il est sans mélange : du pur carbone. Et nous aussi, quand nous trouverons la simplicité véritable, nous posséderons la pureté du diamant, mais aussi sa résistance.
• A simplicidade... Há tão poucas pessoas que conhecem o sentido e a importância desta palavra! Elas detêm-se nas suas manifestações exteriores: a simplicidade no vestir, nas maneiras, no modo de viver. Na realidade, a simplicidade é uma atitude filosófica que consiste em se afastar do mundo físico, o mundo dos fenómenos, para se elevar até ao mundo espiritual, o dos princípios. É isso a simplicidade: ir para o centro, para o cume. Ao passo que, com a complicação, faz-se o caminho inverso: do centro para a periferia, do topo para a base. Quando se sai da simplicidade, da unidade, fica-se perante tantos detalhes que já não se vê como as coisas se organizam entre elas segundo a lei da afinidade; é-se puxado para todos os lados, fica-se a tactear, enfraquece-se.
  O símbolo mais eloquente da simplicidade é o diamante, pois nele não há mistura, é carbono puro. Também nós, quando encontrarmos a verdadeira simplicidade, possuiremos a pureza do diamante e a sua resistência.
